Outdoors School of Survival

This stuff is so cool. My buddy Scott Phipps runs an Outdoors School of Survival up in Redding, CA. He provides training for outdoor survival. This is so important in this day and age of such uncertainty. If you get stranded on a snowy mountain road while coming back from a ski trip, you need to know what to do and how to survive. Scott’s camps can teach you what you need to know. Scott is also into backpacking trips. He will share his knowledge with you regardless if your a beginning backpacker, intermediate, or advanced backpacker. Backpacking in the snowy mountains of Northern California is an experience every outdoor enthusiast needs to have.

Scott also has a great philosophy about leaving the earth clean, like you’ve never even been there. It’s called “Leave No Trace” and he provides awareness education on how to have minimal impact when you are exploring nature. Adobe Air for Android

Being a flash developer is great for getting cool content onto the web. But the mobile computing revolution is in full swing and mobile apps are all the rage.

With Flash CS5 and Adobe AIR, we were able to package several client apps as native mobile applications for the iPhone, iPad, and Android. My company, The Collaborative, has a client, Magenn, for whom we’ve created an app. The nice thing about creating mobile apps in Flash is that you can just post the swf on the web for the client to check out and approve. Using Adobe AIR we were able to package the app and get it running on a Motorola Droid. The proof is in the video.
